About Nayera:

Nayereh is a fine art painter from Tehran, Iran, where she studied at the prestigious Tehran Visual Art Center. Graduating in 1985 she then was an instructor for fifteen years teaching courses including Persian painting, gilding, drawing, and fundamentals of design and art at both the Tehran Visual Art Center and the Tehran Cultural Heritage Center for Traditional Art Studies(1986-1999).
Her work has been featured in exhibitions in the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, and is represented in the museum's permanent collection. The museum used three of her paintings in the books they published. Her work has also been featured in exhibitions in Switzerland, Germany, Syria and the United Arab Emirates(1986-2000).
In addition to working as a teacher she has been commissioned for various projects. The first time was when she was 19 years old by the Iran National Oil Company to design costumes for a theatre show. Her last commission project was the design and construction of a large tile-relief mural, size 10 feet by 18 feet, for the Bank of Keshavarzi of Iran.

She moved to the United States in March 2001. Her traditional Persian Paintings were featured in a June 2002 exhibition at the Augen Gallery in Portland Oregon. She also participated in a group exhibition at the Littman Gallery at Portland State University in 2001. Nayereh's last exhibition was at the Said gallery on December 2007.
Now, she intends to teach Persian painting methods in exploration of contemporary art and would like to expose as many people as possible to the deeper joys of Persian Painting- all too often labeled as “precious” and meaningless. In her method she will use traditional motives as a basis, transforming them into more creative new elements, which will be seen as more relative to modern times.
